trade liquor for blood

Small baby steps is what is going to get me to Germany at the moment. When I'm going there hasn't changed, when I'm moving there has, but that was a mutual agreement. In all honesty, I just want a good nights sleep (hopefully tonight). Although this year is dying out into the autumn and then winter, I will be there before the end of the year, but unlikely before Oktoberfest.

Sam gave me a good phrase last weekend at Latitude and I've been repeating it like a mantra all week and frankly this week has been a write off for the sake of work. Instead purchasing wine and cheese and making shopping bags smell like bad socks. It feels an age ago, last weekend was amazing, it's rare i get excited about anything. Joanna was wonderful, even broke my friends heart in the process. I wasn't so quick to fall, but I did enjoy laying on a big cushion listening to some poetry. Sharing a fire with the neighbours listening to the daughter singing Tracy Chapman. Drinking more cups of tea than drinking beer, but hey what's new?

The live music was pretty good too.

Across the harbour

I did that with thoughtless abandon. It’s just harder to tell them the truth and to say you don’t love them anymore. Really it was just a lie in itself. The cream floating at the top of my coffee, past its sell by date. I always drank coffee slow, even slower when I was waiting for someone. I rested my chin on my hands, closing my eyes. I hadn’t slept properly in a week and it had taken its toll four days ago. Glancing in the mirror upon waking up, my usually redden face was gaunt, tired with a set of cute panda eyes. It didn’t help that it was autumn. The cold air kicking me in the face daily.
