city sunsets over me

Its a perfect day Polly, if I met you tomorrow I would ask you to marry me. But tomorrow I'm busy attending some meeting about what I might be doing in Germany. Hopefully it's playing football in the middle of the atrium, jumpers for goal post, I'm sure Mike would make a good goalie between the kitchen and the shop selling tshirts. But I jest, the wait for moving out there isn't so bad, unlike 5 months ago its feeling completely tangible now.

Strange week of watching people pushing pieces of Dim Sum, asking me what everything was and then to watch someone get a pencil in the eye. However, the hype was justified this time, it's rare I ever admit that but it was this time, take the suit away and it would still be a brilliant film. A big thank you to Mr Nolan.

Some choice words from Roddy

We stop in every passing place
To watch the world move faster than we do
Watch it pass with our eyes closed
The way we usually choose to

So I'll wait 'till I find the remote part of your heart
When nowhere else will let us choose a comfortable start
And even if the breath between us smells of alcohol
We call it confusion in the best way possible

trade liquor for blood

Small baby steps is what is going to get me to Germany at the moment. When I'm going there hasn't changed, when I'm moving there has, but that was a mutual agreement. In all honesty, I just want a good nights sleep (hopefully tonight). Although this year is dying out into the autumn and then winter, I will be there before the end of the year, but unlikely before Oktoberfest.

Sam gave me a good phrase last weekend at Latitude and I've been repeating it like a mantra all week and frankly this week has been a write off for the sake of work. Instead purchasing wine and cheese and making shopping bags smell like bad socks. It feels an age ago, last weekend was amazing, it's rare i get excited about anything. Joanna was wonderful, even broke my friends heart in the process. I wasn't so quick to fall, but I did enjoy laying on a big cushion listening to some poetry. Sharing a fire with the neighbours listening to the daughter singing Tracy Chapman. Drinking more cups of tea than drinking beer, but hey what's new?

The live music was pretty good too.

Across the harbour

I did that with thoughtless abandon. It’s just harder to tell them the truth and to say you don’t love them anymore. Really it was just a lie in itself. The cream floating at the top of my coffee, past its sell by date. I always drank coffee slow, even slower when I was waiting for someone. I rested my chin on my hands, closing my eyes. I hadn’t slept properly in a week and it had taken its toll four days ago. Glancing in the mirror upon waking up, my usually redden face was gaunt, tired with a set of cute panda eyes. It didn’t help that it was autumn. The cold air kicking me in the face daily.

a second opinion

I'm not the type to bow down to pressures from family and friends, but this is a good time to start as any if I want to tell the world about something. Or rather tell the people that might ever read this something they already know. Deutschland, hier komme ich.

Across the harbour

I kept reading the bible and searching for Andy Lau lyrics online my dictionary in hand. I was translating as if his lyrics were really meaningful, helped my Chinese reading no end, but I wasn’t sure if learning words about how I love this girl as much as the sun the sky earth moon or whatever he was crooning about that time.

I soon switched it off and found my New Order CD, I always thought they were much better after Joy Division had disappeared. University was a distant memory, I had done enough to pass it all and all that was left was a 10 week haul of nothingness. I had no urge to work, no urge to make any money.

I never abused solvents again.
